If you have visited a location of interest for COVID-19 or you currently have COVID-19 symptoms

If you have visited a location of interest, are a close contact of someone with COVID-19 or you currently have any COVID-19 symptoms, it is important that you are tested at the earliest possible opportunity.

Call the COVID-19 healthline for free on 0800 358 5453 for further advice. Inform your midwife (LMC) and either contact your GP to book a time for a COVID-19 test or visit a community testing centre – no appointment is necessary for these. More information on testing locations can be found…

Most people who get COVID-19 will have mild to moderate symptoms, similar to other common viruses.

The majority of people will be able to manage their symptoms at home while isolating with some rest, fluids and paracetamol. Use simple remedies like lemon and honey drinks.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Everyone in Aotearoa New Zealand aged 5 and over can get a free COVID-19 vaccine now. You can get a booster if you are aged 16 or over. It does not matter what your visa or citizenship status is.

Children aged 6 months to 4 years can get the paediatric Pfizer vaccine if they are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19.
