Oncology is the care and treatment of people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Haematology is a service that specialises in blood disorders, which are not necessarily cancerous. Our outpatient service for oncology and haematology has clinics at Tauranga Hospital and Whakatāne Hospital.

Services we provide
We provide chemotherapy treatment and other intravenous medical treatments. We have outpatient clinics for appointments with the:
- medical oncologist
- haematologist
- radiation oncologist.
We have specialist doctors in oncology and haematology, and registered nurses experienced in chemotherapy and haematology treatments. Our services are supported by:
- social workers for help with transport, financial and social issues
- Waipuna Hospice for palliative care
- the Cancer Society for information and support
- district nurses for care at home or at other community locations.
