Everyone can do their part by being well informed and well prepared for public emergencies. It can - and does - happen here.
A public emergency could include things like an earthquake, tsunami, major flooding, a big fire or chemical spill.
Waikato District Health Board is part of a national and regional network of organisations who work together to make sure plans are in place for a coordinated response to emergencies. This includes Ministry of Health, Civil Defence, NZ Police, Fire and Emergency, St John and others.
