Waikato District Health Board is a team of more than 8000 people. Most work in clinical roles, but there are also hundreds who provide essential support to ensure the smooth running of our services. For example, we need IT experts to look after our systems, HR specialists to recruit and develop our people, administrators, maintenance teams, payroll people and cooks, just to name a few.

Everyone plays a vital role in the care of our patients – directly or non-directly.

Most of our people are located in Hamilton city, either at the Waiora Waikato Hospital campus near Lake Rotoroa (Hamilton Lake) or at our large Waiora CBD office in central Hamilton, but we have an extensive presence including four rural hospitals, continuing care facilities and community bases across the large region that Waikato DHB serves.
